The FlyKly Smart Wheel aims to make the lives of bicycle commuters a little easier. Compatible with almost any bicycle, the Smart Wheel has a hub fitted with a 250W electric motor that automatically kicks in when the user starts pedaling (and stops when the user does). The motor enables a top speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) and a 30-mile (48-km) range, while the wheel itself weighs in at 9 lbs. There’s also a mobile FlyKly app, which you can use through your smartphone mounted on the handlebar (the mount also functions as a bike light and a phone charger) and connects to the wheel through Bluetooth. You can also use the app to lock the motor, track your bike if it’s stolen, and set the top speed while riding. Having launched a Kickstarter this past October with a goal of raising $100,000, FlyKly has already raised over $700,000. The Smart Wheel is available for pre-order now directly from the source.
